INTERVIEW: T.U.B.S x Breaktudo

"The Untamed" or "Os Indomáveis” (in Portuguese) is a Chinese series that has
become both a national and an international success. It’s shown on Netflix and Youtube. Even after the end,it still captivated a very large audience. The success was so great that some of the actors in the cast decided to form a group. Yes, a group, entitled “The Untamed Boys” (T.U.B.S).
The group T.U.B.S is formed by the actors Li Bowen, Jili, Yubin and Cao Yuchen, who
were part of the drama. The group decided to come together to form a 'boyband'
and in January of this year, they released their first EP-LOVE: ONE-ACT - which has 8
incredible tracks and is available on all digital platforms. Hello, T.U.B.S! First of all, thanks to everyone for talking to BreakTudo. We hope you know that all of you are very loved here in Brazil and we hope that you feel all of our good energy coming to you.
We would like to start our interview by asking if you expected the drama “The
Untamed” to be a success in Brazil, or was that a surprise? Is there anything you would like to say to Brazilian fans? Yu Bin: Actually, I didn't expect would come to know about this drama either. I really want to thank everyone who watched and I am very grateful. If I have a chance, I would like to go to Brazil and meet you all. Cao Yuchen: I never thought that "The Untamed” would become so popular in Brazil today and I am very grateful to all Brazilian fans for their love (care) and support. I also hope to have the opportunity to go to Brazil to meet them. Li Bowen: When we were filming, we didn't expect it to be so well received abroad and especially in Brazil. Of course, we are very happy to see that it is being broadcast in Brazil and we want to thank our friends from Brazil for having enjoyed our drama. Ji Li: Yes, I am also very happy that the drama is being shown abroad and in more countries. I would like to thank my fans in Brazil for liking us and supporting us. We will continue to do our best and when the opportunity arises to go to Brazil, we will go to meet you. We will meet soon.
After the creation of T.U.B.S, what was the biggest challenge you faced in the world of music ?
Li Bowen: After the creation, the pandemic came, and with that the biggest challenge for us was the question of working hours because it was difficult to get to
know each other personally. So each one contributed to the maximum so that this creation could be accomplished. Yu Bin: The biggest challenge is that sometimes, we have to do something I didn't do before, like singing in English or speaking languages from other countries. Now I'm challenging myself on things like that. Cao Yuchen: Yes, the biggest challenge in the music field would be...(Ji Li: I don't think
you have any problems) Ah yes, it must be the difference between recording a video clip and a scene for the drama, because when you shoot for dramas, there is no need to worry about your image, but when we shoot video clips, you need to. So, to make this transition, I felt a little out of place the first time I shot a video clip. Ji Li: Singing is the biggest challenge for me. Because I am also aware that my singing is not amazing. There is a lot to learn either in terms of singing skills or in terms of emotional expression in singing. I need to learn a lot from the three.
The release of the EP “LOVE:ONE-ACT” must be a very good experience for you. If each member could choose only one song from the EP to sing for the rest of their lives, what would it be and why?
Ji Li: I hope everyone can hear one of my songs called “Gave My Heart Away”. But other songs are also really cool, I hope everyone can support them all. Li Bowen: I want to recommend “The Beauty of Follow Our Hearts” to everyone because this song was recorded during our time in Thailand. In fact, it is very significant for us. Hope you like it. Yu Bin: I would recommend my solo single "YOU" to everyone because it is also a style that I personally like a lot. I hope you all like it too.
Cao Yuchen: So, I would like to recommend “Favorite song”, a duet with Yubin. I think we both did well. Hope you like it.
We talked to some fans and they also have some questions for you:
Does the group have plans to collaborate with other artists? And what would be the “ideal collaboration” of each member?
Ji Li: Actually, we don't know which artists we are going to collaborate with next, but I
really want to sing with my idol Jay Chou. Yu Bin: I think that any option for me will be good.
Cao Yuchen: If it's a collaboration as a group...So definitely (Ji Li: Jay Chou) BLACKPINK!
Li Bowen: I respect your choices.
Is there anything about Brazil that made you all curious? Be it some tradition, place or some thing related to food.
Li Bowen: Soccer. The Brazilian is very good at soccer.
Ji Li: Barbecue.
Cao Yuchen: Rio Carnival.
Yu Bin: The statue of Christ the Redeemer.
What are the T.U.B.S ‘ expectations if you come to perform in Brazil?
Cao Yuchen: We are going to Rio to participate in Carnival.
Ji Li: Let's all go to Rio and go to Carnival.
